Winterthur Cantonal Hospital
The aim of the competition was to design new additions for an existing hospital in Winterthur, Zurich which would dialogue with the current buildings and the frontal park.
A new hospital wing was added as well as a radiation oncology building separated from the main project. New provisional interventions like a new parking and entrance were key for the functioning of the hospital on a daily basis.
One of the challenges of the project was to create a new building while the whole hospital was still operating. Several existing buildings were transformed and adapted throughout this process.
